Night Lights

Image
The Night Lights are the hybrid offspring of Toothless (a Night Fury) and his mate, the Light Fury, which appear at the end of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World  and again in the holiday short film, How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming . There are three Night Lights: two males and one female. Oddly enough, their names were not revealed in the films, but in the online computer game, School of Dragons . Their names are Dart, Pouncer, and Ruffrunner. Their species name--Night Lights--is a combination of the names of the parent species: the Night Fury and the Light Fury. Anyway, without further ado, here's a picture of the Night Lights. Aren't they adorable? Malefor

Image
It was said that he was the first purple dragon ever born. Malefor, also known as the Dark Master, is in many ways, the opposite of Spyro. As his name dictates and represents, he is completely malevolent. He represents the unbalanced embodiment of evil after having gained full command over the dark side of Aether, a powerful element of the Purple Dragon that draws in the essence of the very universe itself. Despite being calm and courteous, Malefor is also cunning, highly intelligent, and manipulative, being able to devise twisted plans. While Spyro does good and wishes to protect the world he lives in, Malefor seeks the destruction of it, and will use all he can to finish what he started.

Terrador

Image
The Guardian Dragon of Earth, Terrador is a battle-scarred warrior and the most militant of the four Guardians. He is dedicated and focused on the practical art of battle. His solid demeanor and skill of speech make him perfect for battle command. Not prone to erratic bursts of meaningless talk (Volteer) or prideful boasting (Cyril), or even fiery rage (Ignitus), Terrador is able to keep a level head in the face of greatest danger. He dislikes cowardice, but is wise enough to know when to retreat. He possesses the heart of a warrior and is the most powerful of the four Guardians when it comes down to brute strength. He does not judge others by their appearance or reputation, but by their skills in battle, having much admiration for Spyro, who proved himself in combat at such a young age.

Cyril

Image
The Guardian Dragon of Ice, Cyril is a coldly confident and predominantly prideful dragon who constantly brags about supposedly royal ancestry. He is brimming with pride and arrogance, claiming that his lineage is that of some long-forgotten, yet great dragons. He does not hold his tongue when speaking and he can often be sarcastic, with Volteer usually being the target of these remarks due to the electric Guardian's incessant babbling. Despite his shortcomings, however, he knows when he should swallow his pride and do the right thing, admitting that Spyro is the way forwards and that he and his fellow Guardians must step aside.

Volteer

Image
Volteer is the Guardian Dragon of Electricity. Quick-witted and fleet of foot, this lightning dragon says more than necessary and simply explodes onto any subject that sparks his interest. He is the most intellectual of the Guardians, though he and Cyril don't get along very well. Well-versed in lore and legend of the dragons of old, he is only too happy to add to any tale. As a wyrm of words, his spectacular speech will sizzle your sound sensors and burst your brain cells. And according to Sparx in The Eternal Night , his stories "will put anyone to sleep." Volteer may very well have swallowed a Thesaurus with all that he can fit into one sentence! Nevertheless, he is a friend and fellow to all, though none can keep that electric tongue of his from constantly wagging.

Hunter

Image
Hunter is a skilled cheetah warrior in the Valley of Avalar. He is a member of the Cheetah Tribe who are settled in the valley. Unlike the other members of his clan, Hunter chose to help fight alongside the Dragons in the battle against Malefor and his army instead of staying neutral in the war. The cheetah warrior is also fascinated by the dragons, who are notable for their ability to restore their strength from the Spirit Gems. Hunter possesses a lot of faith in Spyro (and the other dragons), who he strongly believes is the last hope in stopping Malefor for good.

Ignitus

Image
Ignitus is the Guardian Dragon of Fire and the leader of the four Guardians, and serves as a father figure and mentor to Spyro, providing him with words of wisdom and leading him on the right path, as well as teaching him about the element of fire. As leader of the remaining Guardians, Ignitus has unquestionable ability within range of attack power, second only to Terrador in military strategy. He is often calm and collected, but has been known to break out into fits of fury, using his fire ability to great effect. He blames himself for everything that has happened to Spyro and Cynder and he carries that guilt throughout the series. His faith in Spyro is utterly unwavering and he is a devout believer in the Ancestors, truly believing that Spyro is nature's way of balancing itself against Malefor's evil. The most dedicated of the four Guardians, Ignitus is still haunted by the failures of his past and seeks to redeem himself. Equally capable of warmth, rage, and long, smolderi

Sparx

Image
Sidekick and adoptive brother to Spyro, Sparx is cautious, but will explore the world with gentle prodding. He is a reluctant hero who is practically and worldly observant. He uses his wit and sarcasm as a mask to hide his doubt and fears. Serving his role as the comic relief, Sparx occasionally gives out humorous dialogue and sarcastic remarks. Despite this, he is a quick thinker whenever necessary, and can be serious and understanding at times. During the trilogy, he also acts as a pathfinder to Spyro and, on many occasions, shows the way to the next objective. Sparx has a habit of believing almost everyone wants him and Spyro dead. Most likely because of his life in the peaceful dragonfly swamp, Sparx is more skeptical of the cryptic and mysterious plots the two get involved in, going as far as criticizing the Chronicler's complicated visions while Spyro and other characters just accept the directions given. Despite his skeptic and often sarcastic nature, however, Sparx shares a

Cynder

Image
As an egg in the same clutch as Spyro, Cynder was stolen by Malefor's dark forces and born under his evil influence. Malefor's powerful magic transformed Cynder into a lithe, monstrous dragon who was the classic female fatale: unstable, alternately calm, but explosive, caring about nothing but the return of her master. After she was freed from Malefor's control, Cynder felt guilty about all of the things she had done while under his corruption and thrives to discover her own destiny and help fight against her former master. In Dawn of the Dragon , Cynder's personality is explored. She is cunning, intelligent, witty, resourceful, brave, spirited, determined, independent, and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Despite her damsel-in-distress role in the previous two games, Cynder is far from passive and doesn't enjoy such roles of frail and weak heroines. Her time as Malefor's puppet traumatized her so deeply that she quickly becomes upset whenever anyone mentions

Spyro

Image
Spyro is a rare purple dragon that is destined to bring peace to the Realms that is his home. Spyro is young and compassionate for others and is always willing to help them, no matter what happens. He doesn't ask for rewards and is just happy to be a big help to those in danger. He is adventurous, curious about his past, and eager to shape his future. In spite of showing the recklessness of an adolescent at times, Spyro is slowly growing into the role as a leader of a proud species. He is mature and serious, willing to correct the mistakes he made in the past. Having lived the first years of his life thinking he was a dragonfly, Spyro is a little naive about the ways of the world, but is eager to learn and grow.

Blades

Image
"Looking Sharp!" Origin:  Blades faithfully stood watch over the Golden Fear Serpent like his ancestors before him. But after one hundred years of peaceful slumber, the serpent roared back to life. In order to stop the serpent from destroying Scalos Castle, Blades switched places with him and conquered his fears. That brave act earned him membership in the Skylanders. Personality:  Blades is willing to do whatever it takes to protect others from harm. Even if it means sacrificing himself to do it! Most likely to:  Conquer his fears. Least likely to:  Hide in the dungeon when it's storming outside. That place is scary.
